To make the regular website of schwindt-pr match with this blog I have adjusted the layout there by writing a new css.
In the beginning I wasn’t sure if I could get in copyright trouble. Was it necessary to refer to Sadish Bala, the author of this blog layout, seen the fact that I don’t use his css-file but wrote my own one? I don’t use all the elements of his layout on my regular website and the grass photo isn’t from him either.
Is a white content-area with tabs on a beige body background with green headlines and green links with a red dashed border-bottom already a layout that underlies copyright?
Would it be okay if I made my own layout match with this?
Some people told me yes. Others said it was legally okay but not ethically okay to do it without permission or at least linking to the author of the blog layout.
In the end I sent an e-mail to Sadish Bala and got a quick reply. He told me that it was okay as long as I left a link to http://www.wpthemes.info somewhere on the regular website. And if I wanted I could donate $20 via http://wpthemes.info/donate.
I did both and wrote this blog. Thanks again, Sadish!

Nice site! I just miss the “blog” link along the top navigation on your company site.
For real google page-rank I would have hosted this at the same site rather than on wordpress; however, wordpress works nicely and is reliable most of the time.

Some useful thoughts on wordpress-hosting.
Thank you Jon. Though the css is not 100% perfect yet.
Thanks also for the link. I’m thinking about transferring the blog to my website sometime. But I don’t have the time to do it at the moment.
Until then you find a link to it on the German and English startpages of http://www.schwindt-pr.com
Hi there, I came across your blog via Twitter and read your post about redesigning your website to fit the generic wordpress.com template with curiosity. I advise my clients to do the opposite ie to redesign their blog to fit with their business brand.
Mistylook is a great design and as such is used by thousands and if you Google “Theme: Mistylook by Sadish” you will see all the bloggers who are using this theme. While that’s great for bloggers who are not so concerned about requiring their blog to fit with their brand, it’s more of an issue for business bloggers who want to create a distinctive brand recognition with their online presence.
So it’s interesting to see your different perspective.
Hi Yang-May, I know it sounds funny but the layout is just what I wanted. Simple and light.
Btw. I’m changing my layout from time to time anyway. So why not use this one for now?
