Reading Darren Rowse’s blog about outposts yesterday I asked myself what ways I use to outpost news and questions. Here is what I am doing so far:

My ways to outpost so far...
Facebook, twitter and to a little less extent myspace are the social media I use most and the ones that show the most effect for me. It took me some time to get into facebook and twitter but now that I got how it works they turned out to be really helpful tools!
Of course I also blog about my work although my blog here is more about communication in general.
I realised that I don’t use XING that much anymore since I am on twitter.
Then there are some of my old and still effective ways to outpost by email, on forums and also using my messenger contacts.
What’s next?
I’m still growing my social media presence. The other day I have registered on delicious but there’s not much on it yet. I’m also waiting for a jaiku-invite.
I’m thinking about getting an account on stumbleupon and friendfeed too although I don’t know much about these last two yet.
What can you tell me from your own experience?
Which tools have proved to be useful for you and which don’t?
Anything you’d recommend for me?

My blog and twitter have been the most useful for making useful connections. I would also say that commenting on other people’s blogs is a very useful way of making connections. It drives a lot of good traffic my way and I’ve made some of my best online connections from comments.
I use delicious a lot for personal bookmarking but found stumbleupon a hassle.
Facebook is an irritation but once you’re In there’s basically no way out. I rarely spend anytime there.
